at Emil Sigerus - Ethnographical Museum of Transylvania Saxons

Established in 1997, it comes to fill up an emptiness felt in the Roumanian museology because of the reduced representation of the contribution which the Saxons gave to the forming and enrichment of the Romanian culture in more than 800 years of living in the Transylvanian surroundings.

Its patrimony contains almost 7000 objects; the "Emil Sigerus" collection, transferred from the patrimony of the ex-"Carpathian Museum" (founded in 1885) and the valuable collections belonging to Julius Bielz, Wilhelm and Gisela Rosa Richter, Carl Engber and Erwin Ulbrich.
A first permanent exhibition is entitled "Transylvanian Civilization. The tile trade". Through this, a huge patrimonial nucleus of an extraordinary documentary value will be put into account.
