|"Franz Binder" Non-European Ethnographical Museum|"Emil Sigerus" Ethnographical Museum of Transylvania Saxons| The Museum of Transylvanian Civilization successufuly carries on the patrimony, the programe, the structure and the thematic project of the so called "Association Museum" (the first national museum of Romanians from Transylvania, inaugurated in August 19-th, 1905 and clased in 1950 for political reasons). The museum was founded in 1993 and was projected to be developed in to a museum illustrating Transylvanian culture and civiliyation from interethnical and interdisciplinary perspectives. The museum is the owner of a very rich and valorous folk art patrimony (over 30,000 objects: folk costumes, textiles ceramics, worship objects, wood, bone and iron objects). Organises: Romanian folk art temporary exhibitions Academy of Traditional Folk Arts from Romania (the best artisans are awarded and received in academy) Traditional Folk Crafts - children national contest |
